When God Opens Doors...

Over the course of the last year, I’ve wanted to begin the process of writing a book. The only problem was, I never knew what I could actually have enough content to write about.

I have started several, but never finished them.

Prior to Advent starting, I got this sudden urge to do something special for the season. I decided to do a daily email with a Bible verse, a reflection, and a prayer. In less than a week I had all 28 days done and ready to go.

I had envisioned it being just for a few of my clients and followers. We ended up with over 100 enrolled and the feedback was so humbling.

I couldn’t shake the thought that I had all this content sitting here and more people I wanted to share it with. So before Christmas was even here, I had decided I was going to do a devotional.

Now, I know nothing about “publishing”. My writing skills aren’t that great. I am also a struggling follower of God who has spent years not reading my Bible or in prayer with God. I am NOT enough for this. Yet, here’s what I’m realizing: JESUS is enough. He was the one who put the thought in my mind and spoke through me as I was creating this for you.

There might be something in your life you know you would love to do, but you just aren’t feeling enough. Jesus is here telling you that HE will be enough.

2 Corinthians 12: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

God doesn’t ask you to have it all together. He knows you are weak. We live in a world where we can filter our pictures, only share the highlights, and so many of us hide our shortcomings out of shame.

I want to remind you that it is in those weak areas where you need God the most. The TOP of God’s list is helping YOU. He wants you to need him.

Looking back I realize that leaning into God and taking a step in a place I didn’t feel worthy helped me to grow as a person. I learned a ton of new things, I relied on Jesus, and I now I get to show you that GOD’s power can work in amazing ways if you let him.

What weakness in your life is God wanting to use to serve you?? What thought is in your heart, but you’ve been pushing it away because you don’t feel worthy? That is the exact place God is wanting you to lean into his strength over yours!

Here’s a prayer I’ve been saying on repeat & maybe it will help you too: God, open doors I cannot close & close doors I cannot open. Amen.
